Lebanon’s Director General of General Security receives Ambassador Al-Hasani

Major General Elias Al-Baysari, Director General of Lebanese General Security, received Ambassador Ahmed Abbas Al-Hasani, President of the Arab Union for Combating Forgery and Counterfeiting, at his office in Beirut to discuss cooperation between the Union and General Security in combating forgery and counterfeiting. Mr Hassan Balouz, director of the Union’s Lebanon branch, attended the meeting.

The two sides reviewed areas of cooperation, ways of strengthening it, and the latest developments in security issues of common concern relating to forgery, counterfeiting and money laundering. Ambassador Al-Hasani expressed his appreciation for Lebanon’s Ministry of the Interior, said his visit reflected the close ties between the two countries, and confirmed the Union’s interest in exchanging training expertise with the Lebanese security services. The Director General congratulated the Ambassador on his presidency of the Union and stressed the need for joint efforts to contain the negative effects of forgery and counterfeiting. At the close of the meeting the Ambassador presented the Union’s shield in recognition of the Director General’s efforts.
