Die Union richtete ihr Iftar am Nilufer aus; unter den Gästen waren der Präsident des Rates für Arabische Wirtschaftseinheit und zahlreiche Persönlichkeiten des öffentlichen Lebens.
Ambassador Ahmed Abbas Al-Hasani, President of the Arab Union for Combating Forgery and Counterfeiting, hosted the Union’s iftar on the banks of the Nile in Cairo. Guests included Ambassador Mohammadi Al-Ni, President of the Council of Arab Economic Unity; Major General Ihab Ibrahim; Counsellor Sayed Ibrahim, director of the Council’s training centre; Counsellor Hossam Mazen, Vice-President of the State Council; Dr Mohamed Shouman, Dean of the Faculty of Media at the British University in Egypt; Dr Ahmed Al-Soufi; Major General Ahmed Al-Harrani; and a number of members of parliament, business leaders, media figures and journalists.
Welcoming the guests and wishing them a blessed Ramadan, Ambassador Al-Hasani said the Union coordinates between its members and looks after their interests in combating forgery and counterfeiting, strengthens the bonds between them, and contributes to economic integration and trade between the Arab countries. He added that the Union would soon announce a number of events across the Arab world. Dr Abeer El-Essawy, Secretary-General, said the Union under its new leadership would be an influential body with many activities at the Arab level, and Counsellor Hassan Mohamed, Vice-President, reviewed recent achievements, including the opening of four regional offices in four Arab countries and the signing of a cooperation protocol with the Egyptian Accreditation Council (EGAC).
